Social media blocks

Use these blocks to drive website traffic to your social feeds or display what’s happening on social media on your website.

Social icons block

Use the social icons block to add icons that link to your social media feeds such as Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

The block is most commonly used when updating the footer area for your website.

Add the social icons block then:

  • click ‘+’ to add an icon
  • browse all or search for what you need
  • once added, click the arrows (< >) to change the order of icons
  • click on an icon to enter the URL of your social media pages, and click ‘apply’

You can customise the icons in the block settings on the right-hand side. You can choose to change the shape and colour, and if you want to display the name of the social media channel or not.

View an example of social icons in the footer of the prison and probation jobs website.

X (formerly known as Twitter) embed

With the Twitter embed block, you can embed Tweets (posts on Twitter – now known as ‘X’) into your posts and pages. You don’t need a Twitter account to be able to use it. You can only embed public tweets, though.

Simply enter the URL for your Twitter feed and your latest tweets will be displayed.
