A ‘listings’ page allows visitors to your website to view a list, search for and filter a particular type of content.
Use a listings page for groups of items that you regularly add to. This is often things like news, reports or other documents.
A listings page is one of the page templates available on Website Builder, along with ‘default’ and ‘full-width’.

For you to create a listings page, the Website Builder team will first need to set up the ‘Post Type’ for the content you want to group together.

How listings pages work
First of all, you need to have a ‘Post Type’ set up. The Website Builder team can do this for you. Contact us to discuss what you need.
This means a group of similar items that you want to group together. For example, it could be ‘News’, ‘Reports’, ‘Investigations’, or any item that relates to what your organisation does and what your audience is looking for.
Let’s imagine a website that wants to produce a section called ‘Books’.
The ‘Post Type’ would be ‘Books’.
If you wanted to be able to sort these by ‘Genre’ and ‘Author’, the Website Builder team would set these up as things you can filter by.

You can choose how many items you want to be visible on the page. Items beyond this number will be shown on another page that the user can navigate to by clicking ‘Next’.

You can choose to sort items by published date (newest to oldest), or title (alphabetical).
You can restrict a listings page to show just one subset of the post type. If you wanted a listings page for just one particular genre of books, you’d choose ‘Genre’ under ‘Restrict Books’. A second box then appears for you to choose the genre you want to restrict it to.
The ‘Display fields’ box is where you choose what information from the items you want to show on the listings page.
When published, the listings page would look like this, with a list of items, search box and filters:

Each item in the list is clickable and would take you to the item post:

The Website Builder team will set up the post type with the features you need. It can include document uploads such as PDFs, as shown here. You can show custom fields as needed.
